Acne Studios “Propaganda” capsule collection
Acne Studios tapped the archive of Gothic subculture magazine Propaganda for a new capsule collection named after the famous publication. Part of the Scandinavian brand’s SS20 product rollout, the women’s clothing collection focuses on photos from founder / photographer Fred H. Berger that explore fashion, sexuality, music, art and literature from subculture. Throughout the magazine’s 20-year history until its disbandment in 2002, Berger helped promulgate the magazine’s legacy by highlighting androgynous male models who captured the eerie and macabre aesthetic of Gothic.
For the collection, Acne Studios highlighted a variety of magazine post covers, typographies and images, silkscreening them onto a range of apparel, including from t-shirts and buttons to accessories such as wallets and glasses. Highlights specifically include a sheer brown silk button-down shirt that features a hazy graphic throughout, as well as a pair of faded denim that is adorned with a contrasting photograph in dark indigo.
You can check out the entire “Propaganda” capsule collection from Acne Studios above. All parts will be available through Acne Studio’s online store and flagships starting December 19, with prices ranging from $ 180 to $ 540 USD.
