Chennai: Actress Shruti Haasan believes that being a public figure she can easily be misunderstood. However, she hopes to continue to say what she thinks with confidence, regardless of what people perceive of her. “I think we live in a time where there is some negativity or easy judgment. I realized that I wanted to share my truth and speak with ease no matter what. Those who want to get the good out of it will do it, and those who twist things will always twist things, ”she said.
The actress, known for her love of goth, recently launched the #McKenziesmakeupchallenge, in association with American singer and actor McKenzie Westmore. The subject of the challenge is Beautiful Gothic Make up. Shruti judges the challenge, where she invites participants from across the country to showcase their creative gothic looks.
“The gothic look is my all time favorite. The Mckenzies challenge is a really nice and innovative platform and I’m happy to be a part of it, ”she says. Speaking of the applications she has received so far, she says, “There are a lot of people who don’t know much about the subculture, who are intrigued. Most of the time it has been super fun and positive.
The gothic look is not yet accepted as part of pop culture in the Indian glamor industry. However, Shruti believes that if a certain look is an extension of his personality, people end up feeling drawn to him. “I think whatever a look, if it’s an authentic extension of your interests and your personality, then people are drawn to it even if it’s not a style they’re used to.” , she says.
Shruti will soon be seen in Prabhas’ film “Salaar”, which is shot in Kannada and Telugu, and will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
