Door County Wineries Bring Home Gold
At the 21st annual Finger Lakes International Wine and Spirits Competition, Door Peninsula Winery’s Sweet Cherry wine won a double gold medal and won the Best in Class award. The winery also won a double gold medal for its modern cider. The prize for the best liqueur went to von Stiehl Winery for its Cherry Bounce.
The two wineries also won awards for several other submissions, with locally grown fruit beating other famous ingredients such as Oregon blackberries and Georgia peaches.

This historic cottage on the water in Fish Creek has a new look like the new home of Bayside Coffee. Owner Robert MacDonald remodeled the space to offer fast service and a rustic-modern aesthetic.
In addition to its extensive coffee menu, Bayside Coffee sells bagels, scones, croissants, breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, and quiches, as well as lunch options such as salads. mandarin chicken, Italian sandwiches and more.

Jason and Sarah White have transformed the old auto body shop at 2450 S. Bay Shore Dr. in Sister Bay into the Peach Barn Farmhouse & Brewery.
Currently operating from a walk-in window, the Whites plan to add indoor seating to their beautiful outdoor space later this year. Savory snacks are offered, as well as Peach Barn beers including Where Harry Met Sally Farmhouse Ale, named after Sarah’s grandparents Dr Harry Schwartz and Sally, who built a cabin in Garrett Bay. They had children, who had children, and now all five generations share a love for Door County.
