Music lovers, get ready, because Disney’s Frozen Broadway Musical finally arrives in Perth in August and whether the cold bothers you or not, you’ll want to grab tickets now.
After getting a chance to see this one firsthand last week, I can promise you that Whether you’re 6 or 36, a music fan or a complete theater virgin, the hit production of Disney’s acclaimed film is bound to be a truly magical experience – there’s a reason it was the new musical. highest-grossing of its season in its first year on Broadway…it’s just amazing.
I assume you know the movie, which means you already know that it is first and foremost a story that celebrates brotherhood, with a bit of romance and comedy to keep everyone smiling from start to finish. end. And yes, all your favorite characters are here too: sisters Elsa and Anna; the not-so-perfect match, Hans; Kristoff and his friendly reindeer, Sven; and of course the cutest snowman in the movie, Olaf.
You’ll also be familiar with the hit songs, but keep your ears peeled as 12 new numbers have been added, written especially for the stage by Oscar-winning husband and wife duo Kristen Anderson Lopez and Bobby Lopez (Morman’s Book, Avenue Q) – the same couple who wrote the original songs for the film.
If you still think it’s a kids show let me tell you what it is because it’s more like Wicked or Phantom Of The Opera you know two of the best musicals ever the temperature. Created by the same producers who brought us Aladdin, The Lion King and Mary Poppins, the production was designed for adults and older children (so please leave the little cries at home) – with the same epic set and the same 440 costumes you’ll find in the Broadway production.
All I can say is absolutely do not go to the bathroom until you have seen the mind-blowing dress-changing moment in Let it go. I keep replaying it in my head. It’s pure magic and I get chills just thinking about it. We shouldn’t be too surprised considering that Jemma Rix, who is best known for her role as Elphaba in Wicked, is the performance killer.
