Inland Valley Repertory Theater offers musical theater, choir lessons for children – Daily Bulletin

The Claremont-based Inland Valley Repertory Theater Camp IVRT offers in-person musical theater and choir classes to students aged 7 to 13, starting October 4.

Classes at Mini Camp IVRT will combine singing, acting and movement, with students working as a team. Students will read scripts and scenes aloud, focusing on reading emotionally and expressively, and classes will feature songs from Broadway musicals.

Students will perform in a recital and possibly at a community event. This course can be repeated, as a new repertoire is taught in each session.

In addition to the IVRT Mini Camp, registrations are also open for the “I love Chorus” courses. Students will sing traditional folk songs, contemporary pop songs, and songs from Broadway musicals. Students will learn to improve their vocal technique and will have the opportunity to perform in concert.

“We are very excited about these youth programs in conjunction with the Claremont Community School of Music,” said Donna Marie Minano, Inland Valley Repertory Theater co-founder and course instructor, in a press release. .

All classes will meet on Monday evening at the Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd., and COVID-19 safety guidelines will be followed.
