Inland Valley Repertory Theater offers musical theater lessons for children and adults – Daily Bulletin

Claremont-based Inland Valley Repertory Theater is offering in-person musical theater classes for youth and adults during its fall session of Mini Camp IVRT, with classes beginning Sept. 15.

In the program, students aged 7 to 13 play improvisational games and learn skills such as monologue memorization, cold reading, character development, vocal technique and dance and basic movement. The sessions focus on different scenes and songs.

According to a press release, adults will have the chance to return to the stage, hone their acting skills and audition techniques, and participate in mock auditions. Each class, taught by performers from the Inland Valley Repertory Theatre, will include technique and improvisation, helping participants hone their skills and prepare to return to the stage.

Classes will be held at the Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd.

Camp IVRT is an Inland Valley Repertory Theater educational outreach program, started by Donna Marie Minano, Executive Director of Inland Valley Repertory Theater and faculty member of Claremont Community School of Music.
