The Eurovision Song Contest is back and the second of the semi-finals takes place tonight, May 20. Italy performed her song in the first semifinal, which aired on the BBC, and fans are excited to hear more about the act. Who represents Italy at Eurovision?
Måneskin is the group of four musicians representing Italy this year, and the group is made up of vocalist Damiano, bassist Victoria, guitarist Thomas and Ethan on drums.
The members have all known each other since they started school but the group was only created in 2015.
Their musical influences include rock, reggae, funk, pop, and rap, so they have a very versatile style of music.
The name of the band comes from the Danish word for “moonlight”, in homage to the country of origin of bassist Victoria.
In 2018, the group became well known for their songs. Morirò da Re and Torna a casa, before releasing the album He ballo della vita.

Italy has won the Eurovision Song Contest twice so far – in 1964 with the song Non ho l’età by Gigliola Cinquetti and in 1990 with the song Insieme: 1992 by Toto Cutugno.
They are well positioned to take one of the top spots in this year’s competition, with odds of 7/1 according to Betfair.
The group is on Instagram and they shared a photo of themselves ahead of the first semi-final, saying, “Eurovision starts tonight. Good luck everyone, let’s rock the stage together.”
Their song has already become a huge hit, with another article saying: “Zitti e Buoni doubled the platinum today! Thanks everyone, we couldn’t do this without you. The party is not over yet. “
They have been keeping fans up to date since arriving in Rotterdam, where this year’s competition is taking place.

The group, from Rome, rose to fame after coming in second in the eleventh season from the Italian version of X factor in 2017.
Måneskin performed their song Eurovision at the Sanremo Music Festival 2021, which they won.
The group could often be found on the street in the Colli Portuensi district and the historic center of Rome.
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one saying: “Cand we finally agree that Italy is the best Eurovision country.”
Another said: “Sorry for Eurovision but Italy is going to hit # Eurovision2021 so hard.”
