New Musical ‘& Juliet’ Announces Broadway Dates After Blast in London

The highly anticipated musical & Juliet officially hits Broadway this fall and the dates have finally been announced!

The musical is currently playing a pre-Broadway engagement in Toronto and the full cast will move to New York production later this year. The show is also set in London, where it was a smash hit.

And Juliet contains an original book by Schitt’s Creek writer David West Read and the music of a legendary songwriter and producer Max Martin. The musical flips the script of the greatest love story ever told, imagining what would happen next if Juliet hadn’t ended Romeo and given a second chance to live and love — on her terms. Juliet’s new story comes to life through a playlist of pop anthems as iconic as her name, all penned by Martin and its collaborators, including “Since U Been Gone”, “Roar”, “Baby One More Time”, “Larger Than Life”, “That’s The Way It Is”, “Can’t Stop the Feeling”, and many more others.

The musical will begin previews on Broadway on October 28, 2022 before an official opening night on November 17, 2022. The show will be presented at the Stephen Sondheim Theater.

Newcomer Lorna Courtney will star as Juliet alongside the Tony Award winner Paulo Szot like “Spear”, Betsy Wolfe as Tony Award-nominated ‘Anne Hathaway’ (no, not that one – William Shakespeare’s wife) austere sands like “Shakespeare”, Justin David Sullivan like “May”, Melanie LaBarrie as “Nurse” (who originated the role in the West End), Ben JacksonWalker like ‘Romeo’ and Philippe Arroyo like ‘Francois.’

“I’m so thrilled that Broadway audiences can share in the joy of & Juliet“, Martin said in a statement. “I’ve had the incredible honor of working with some of the most talented artists in the world, and this cast is no exception.”
