Sunriver Music Festival announces plethora of music experiences for 2022

SUNRIVER, Ore. (KTVZ) – The acclaimed Sunriver Music Festival is entering its 45th season with a new perspective and talent. We are honored and thrilled to announce that Artistic Director and Conductor Brett Mitchell will be joining the Festival, along with a plethora of musical talent and excitement before summer arrives.

Our first event in 2022 is the festival Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance Concert on Monday, February 14 in the magnificent historic Great Hall of the Sunriver Resort. Presenting sponsor is Sunriver Resort and features the Pacific Northwest’s premier dance group, Blue Skies Big Band. The evening begins with a hosted happy hour followed by a multi-course seated dinner, plated dinner, and full concert. Tickets are $90 each. Blue Skies Big Band is a 17-piece traditional big band based in Eugene. They are known for carrying on the great tradition of big band swing music from the 1920s to 1940s. The tight vocal harmonies of the Jewel Tones dominate the group with a sound reflecting the great trios of the 30s and 40s, from the Boswell Sisters to the Andrew Sisters . This makes for a great evening of nostalgia, dining, dancing and musical entertainment.

Sunriver Music Festival takes the health of its patrons seriously and follows current CDC/OHA guidelines. Full Covid-19 vaccination cards or proof of negative test are required for indoor events. Music lovers and those wanting to experience an eclectic variety of live piano music, mark your calendars for the return of the Sunriver Music Festival. Piano Showcase: from Bach to boogie and jazz April 1 and 2. This interactive 2-day event at the Tower Theater in downtown Bend features four exceptional pianists celebrating the virtuosity and versatility of the piano. Come for concerts and workshops in a lineup that spans all genres, filled with collaboration, performance, and education. Michael Allen Harrison of Portland (founder of the popular Big Ten concert series) leads the event this season, with pianists Mac Potts, Colleen Adent and Andrea Johnson.
