One of the most popular romantic movies of all time is “Pretty Woman”. So the next step, of course, is to stage it. “Pretty Woman: The Musical,” which played for 13 weeks on Broadway, will hit the Philadelphia arts scene January 4-16, 2022.
The musical features Roy Orbison and Bill Dee’s internationally successful song, “Oh, Pretty Woman”, which inspired the 1990 film Julia Roberts / Richard Geer.
The musical stars Broadway superstar and Tony Award nominee Adam Pascal (Rent, Aida) as Edward Lewis and rising star Olivia Valli (Wicked, Jersey Boys) as the charming and charismatic Vivian Ward. Jessica Crouch as Kit De Luca, Kyle Taylor Parker as Happy Man / Mr. Thompson and Matthew Stocke as Philip Stuckey. Nella Cole, Michael Dalke, Nico DeJesus, Christian Douglas, Danny Drewes, Alex Gibbs, Em Hadick, Joshua Kenneth Allen Johnson, Chris Manuel, Alexa Xioufaridou Moster, Kaylee Olson, Amma Osei, Jonathan Ritter, complete the company in alphabetical order. ‘Pretty Woman: The Musical’ ended its 13-month airing at the Nederlander Theater on Broadway on August 18, 2019. The musical began in Hamburg, Germany on September 24, 2019, and opened in the West End of London in February 2020 before COVID -19 cinemas closed worldwide. The London production reopened on July 8, 2021 with great success at the Savoy Theater in the West End.
“Pretty Woman: The Musical” is part of the 2021-22 Broadway season of the Kimmel Cultural Campus, co-presented by The Shubert Organization.
