The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical wins 2022 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album | The Broadway Buzz

The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical won the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album on April 3, beating nominated recordings from North country girlAndrew Lloyd Webber Cinderella, Les Miserables: The Staged Concert (the sensational live recording 2020)Burt Bacharach and Steven Sater some lovers and Stephen Schwartz Snapshots.

Inspired by the first season of the hit Netflix series, The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical is written by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear and features music and lyrics by Barlow and Bear with vocals by Barlow and orchestrations and vocals by Bear.

Barlow first posted the idea on TikTok in January 2021 when she answered a very important question: What if Bridgerton were a musical? His original songs, featuring events from the show from the perspective of different characters, quickly went viral. Two of the most popular songs are “Burn For You”, a duet between Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings during their honeymoon, and “If I Were a Man”, a song for the headstrong Eloise Bridgerton.
