Season 19 of the bachelorette featuring Gaby Windey and Rachel Rechia was filled with many surprises, including amazing musical guests. Brett Young, Ashley Cook and others are set to grace the Bachelor Nation scene.
Typically, musical performers are brought in to perform on one-on-one dates, where the season’s frontman and a lucky contestant can dance the night away together. However, one artist found himself in the middle of a drama.
Hunt the rice admitted he was “really pissed” after appearing on Bachelor alum Peter Weberis one-on-one with Victoria Fuller, who is his ex-girlfriend. When the contestant opened up about her previous romantic relationship with the musician, the pilot then confronted Chase, who assured her that there was nothing left between the two of them.
The country crooner said he was upset because he just wanted to promote his music on the reality series and not get involved in an awkward love triangle.
“I wanted absolutely nothing – if there’s anything I’ve ever wanted, it’s to have nothing to do with the drama of this show,” the ‘Eyes On You’ artist said during of an appearance on fitz in the morning radio show in January 2020 after the episode aired.
Chase revealed he was initially concerned about his ties to Victoria when asked to appear.
“I told my manager and my publicist that they were like, ‘Don’t even worry about that. They’re not going to do this to you, it’s a weird coincidence, but they’re not going to – he there’s no way they’re doing this to you. They’ve never brought in anybody else like that, surprised the show’s guest,'” Chase recalled, adding that he “didn’t ‘not expecting’ to cross paths with her ex.
The ‘Forever to Go’ artist said the drama was “over the top” and “unnecessary,” adding, “But in the end, it happened. I don’t know if it was the producers or if they just got lucky. I know what I’m thinking, but I’ll let everyone know what they’re thinking.
That being said, some musical artists’ ties to the show have actually had major benefits. Chris Lane met his wife, lauren bushnel, thanks to the franchise. The “Big, Big Plans” singer appeared on the show for Nick Viall‘s season and Lauren received now-ex Ben Higgin‘ last rose. Although they didn’t cross paths in front of the cameras, their reality TV roots led them to reconnect at the Stagecoach music festival in 2018. They married in 2019, and the rest is history.
